Building Envelope Course
All architects and restricted practitioners registered to practice architecture in Alberta must take the mandatory building envelope course being jointly produced by the Faculty of Environmental Design, University of Calgary and the Association. Presenters will be Mark Chambers, EVDS, University of Calgary and Dr. John Straube, University of Waterloo.
This best practices course focuses on good design of all building types, relevant building science, detailing, energy efficiency, life-cycle analyses, systems integration, rehabilitation and retrofits, design-construction dynamics and post-occupancy evaluation. An optional roundtable forum and discussion will be held from 6 to 9 pm the day before the scheduled seminars.

As announced at the 2009 AGM, a distance learning option of this course will be available before the end of 2009. Details for registration will be posted once they are finalized. Members who have not taken this course by seminar will be sent an email announcing the opening of the course.
Note that this distance course will have an evaluation component that must be submitted and evaluated before a certificate of completion will be issued.
