On July 7, 2009, the Provincial Cabinet approved a recommendation from the Cabinet Policy Committee (CPC) on the Economy to adopt the new General Regulation for the Architects Act.  That approval allowed the coming into force of the Architects Amendment Act 2006.

On July 8, 2009 two Orders-In-Council were signed by the Lieutenant Governor:

O.C. 372/2009 reads in its entirety:

            The Lieutenant Governor in Council orders that a Proclamation issue

            proclaiming the Architects Amendment Act, 2006 in force on the date

            of the issue of the Proclamation.

O.C.373/2009 reads in its entirety:

            The Lieutenant Governor in Council approves the Architects Act

            General Regulation set out in the attached Appendix.

Both documents were signed by Lt.-Gov. Norman Kwong and counter-signed by

Minister Doug Horner, as Acting Chair of the Executive Council (Cabinet).

The new General Regulation, and the amendments to the Architects Act achieved in 2006, were in force as of July 9, 2009.

Bylaws Review Information

The new AAA bylaws are ready for your consideration and review. They were reviewed by a sub-committee of Council and adopted by full council at the February 24, 2010 meeting.

Members will be asked to participate in a vote at the 2010 AGM to officially adopt these bylaws.
