The
new main campus of Grant MacEwan Community College is a thesis about
place-making in a prairie city. A new campus occupying former railway
lands now connects neighbourhoods previously separated at the edge
of the downtown.
Separate structures, each the size of a city
block, are reduced in scale by using a range of materials typical
of the surroundings and indigenous to the prairie.
