The 12 Principles of Conscious Construction
Teresa Coady, FRAIC, Architect AIBC, Author
In this presentation, participants will learn of a new, post-Industrial Age approach to development that supports the race to resilience now underway globally. Embracing the architect and engineer as key actors, The 12 Principles of Conscious Construction form a roadmap to resilience that is easy to understand, share and execute. The harm reduction issues related to current development and construction practices are complex. Misunderstandings can create barriers to effective changes in our practices. Simplifying and balancing the issues, these 12 Principles of Conscious Construction neatly summarize why we need to act now, what we should focus on, and – most importantly – how we can do it.
