The Five Key Climate Change Challenges and Opportunities Alberta Designers Should Have on their Radar in the Next Five Years

Craig Applegath, DIALOG

Over the next five years Alberta designers will be presented with many existential challenges related to climate change. This presentation by award-winning architect and podcaster, Craig Applegath, will provide a high-level overview of what he believes will be five of the most important climate change related challenges that designers will want to prepare for to both reduce their risk, and take advantage of the associated opportunities.

Craig is internationally recognized for his design and advocacy of climate adaptive design and zero-carbon regenerative buildings and cities.

He is also a globally sought-after speaker and workshop facilitator; recent examples include the UN Habitat III Conference in Prague, the World Future Council Conferences in Munich and Beijing, the International Living Futures Institute Conference in Portland, and the American Institute of Architects Students Conference in Toronto. Craig also hosts the Twenty First Century Imperative podcast, where he explores how we can: live without destroying the biosphere; repair and regenerate environmental damage; and adapt to the escalating impacts of climate change.
