Distance Learning

There are a number of online course providers offering courses geared to architects and interior designers, often at no charge to the user. These online course providers afford the user the opportunity to access the material when it best fits their needs and their schedule. Please refer to the individual course provider websites for further information and registration details.

Typically a certificate of completion is provided to the user after successful completion of the accompanying quiz.  


AEC Daily
This course provider offers a wide variety of web articles rated for Professional Development (PD) credit at no charge. They provide the user with a certificate of completion upon successful completion of the quiz that accompanies the course material. Note:  AEC Daily provides the AAA with a monthly User Report which is used to update member transcripts.  


Architectural Record's CE Center
The Architectural Record magazine - part of BNP Media - has an extensive online library of free educational articles, webinars and multimedia courses posted each month on design-related topics. Visit the Continuing Education website for more information and a complete list of their course offerings.

Building Code Tutor
The Building Code Tutor is an online educational program developed by Muniak Enterprises Inc. The program consists of a series of short interactive lessons which focus on a specific aspect of the building code. Canada Wood Council

The Canada Wood Council has assembled a PD program that provides current  information about wood materials, design and applications. For more information, refer to the e-learning page of their website for a full listing of their free courses here.

RAIC eLearning Educational Seminars
The RAIC offers presentations which provide an interactive review of best practices, product knowledge and sustainable technologies. Registration for these seminars can be made through the RAIC website.
