Code of Ethics
In addition to the legislated requirements of the Architects Act, the professions are guided by a Code of Ethics, which establishes the high standard of professional conduct expected of members.
The cornerstone of the Code of Ethics is the responsibility the Architect or Licensed Interior Designer has to protect the interests of his or her client. The design professional’s role is to represent the client and the client's best interests while analyzing planning, design and construction problems and creating unique solutions to meet the client’s specific needs. The Code of Ethics states that the needs of the client are paramount and that the Professional must be free of any conflict of interest.
