Jacob Lackman

Jacob is an architect with over a decade of experience in design and construction. While Calgary is considered home, Jacob started his architectural journey at the University of Idaho in 2003. During summers and continuing post university for several years, Jacob worked within the construction industry gaining hands-on approach to the on-site side of the architectural world. The experiences learned during these years in the field have provided him with a perspective not all architects have the opportunity to practice.

Jacob is currently a Project Architect with IBI Group Architects in Calgary. Throughout his career Jacob has worked on a variety of projects from retail developments, residential projects, car dealerships, service stations, industrial, recreation, and municipal projects. Passionate about high-performance building design, Jacob was certified as a Passive House Designer by Passive House Canada in 2020.

While not in the office Jacob enjoys spending time with his family, tackling “small” home renovations, snowboarding, golfing, gardening, horseback riding, and generally most outdoor activities.

Becoming an architect can be a long journey... some longer than others. I would like to thank my wife Mardi, for all her patience, support, and encouragement during my journey in becoming a Registered Architect.
