Internationally Trained Professionals

Internationally Trained Professionals

The Broadly Experienced Foreign Architects (BEFA) program streamlines the process for foreign-trained architects to become certified for licensure in Canada. The program assesses applicant experience against pan-Canadian standards of competency for practise in Canada through a process consisting of an on-line self-assessment and an interview with licensed architects.

Screening of BEFA applications is conducted by the Canadian Architectural Certification Board (CACB).

Internationally trained professionals that do not meet the specific licensing paths mentioned above may submit their educational qualifications to the CACB for review and certification. Following this process you may be eligible to apply for the Internship in Architecture Program (IAP).
